How I learned concrete on my dad's jobs

I grew up riding along on my dad's concrete jobs, raking and finishing right beside him, and after years of working for him I started this business in Fairhope in 2023. Most of our calls come from homeowners who want a new driveway, patio or set of steps. We also hear from folks building near the water who need footings or a foundation planned around what the city asks for.

On those jobs I learned that a lot of concrete trouble starts underneath the slab or with water that has nowhere to go. So I'd rather spend extra time on the base and the drainage than come back to a problem later. If you're looking for a concrete contractor in Fairhope, AL, you'll find the rest of the work we do on our home page.

What working with us looks like on your job

Here's what you'll actually notice when we take on your driveway, patio or steps, from the first phone call to the day we pull the forms and clean up.

  • You talk to the owner from start to finish

When you call, you get me, and I'm the one who walks your yard and writes your estimate. I'm also on site working beside our own crew the day it's poured, so nothing gets lost between the person who quoted it and the people doing it.

  • An estimate you can compare side by side

Our free estimates spell out the whole job, from the ground work to the cleanup, so you can lay ours next to another bid and see what each one includes. The price usually moves with the size of the slab, how much digging your lot needs and the finish you pick, and the schedule mostly turns on whether a permit and inspection are needed.

  • Ground work that gets as much care as the finish

We dig out the soft dirt and pack a firm base instead of raking it level, and we check where your water runs so the slab falls away from the house. If a budget has to give somewhere, I'd rather trim the finish than the base, because you can redo a surface but you can't fix the ground under a slab once it's poured.

  • We handle the permit side for you

Before we set a pour date, we check whether the city or the county covers your address. If your job needs a permit, we pull it, line up the inspections and leave the work open until it's been looked at, so you aren't stuck on the phone with the city.

Licensing and insurance for concrete work in Fairhope

  • State and city licenses to ask any bidder about

Alabama's licensing rule says a contractor you hire directly needs a residential home builder's license once the job costs more than $10,000, and the City of Fairhope requires a business license for anyone working inside its city limits or police jurisdiction. It's worth asking every company that bids your job about both, because the city checks for the state licenses the work requires before it issues its own.

  • Our license and insurance

Licensed and fully insured. Ask me about it when I come out for your estimate, and I'm glad to go over it with you before any work starts.
