Agreeing to these terms
These terms cover your use of this website and any estimate or work you get from Quickset Fairhope Concrete, a concrete contractor in Fairhope, AL. When you use the site, ask us for an estimate or book a job with us, you agree to them.
If your signed estimate or contract says something different from this page, the contract controls for that job, because it's written for your property and your work.
What we do
We build and repair concrete for homes and businesses. That includes driveways, patios, sidewalks, steps, garage floors, pool decks, slab foundations, footings, retaining walls and concrete cutting. We're licensed and fully insured.
The descriptions on our home page and service pages explain the work in general terms so you know what to expect. They aren't a promise about your particular job. The work we do on your property is whatever your written estimate or contract lists. You can read more about who we are on our About page.
Estimates and pricing
Our estimates are free, done in person and obligation-free. We price a job on what we can see that day. That means the size of the area, how thick the slab needs to be, how much old concrete comes out, the base work underneath, how easily a truck can reach the pour and the finish you pick.
Some things only show up once the old slab is out, like soft subgrade, the ground the new slab sits on, or buried debris, roots and old footings. If we find something like that, we'll stop, show you and give you the added cost before we do any extra work. Changes you ask for after we've agreed on a price get priced the same way.
An estimate is good for the period written on it, because material and delivery costs change.
Scheduling, weather and cancellation
We give you a target start date, and it can move, because concrete depends on the weather. Rain, extreme heat, ground too wet to pack and ready-mix delivery delays can all push a pour back. We'd rather move the date than pour into conditions that leave you with a weaker slab, and we'll tell you as soon as we know.
If you need to cancel or reschedule, call us at (251) 850-0154 as early as you can. Once we've ordered materials, set forms or had a concrete truck sent out, those costs may be charged even if the job is cancelled, and your contract says how that's handled.
Payment
Your estimate or contract spells out the payment schedule, including any deposit and when the balance is due. Payment is due on the terms written there.
If a balance goes unpaid, we may charge the late fees your contract allows, and we may use the collection remedies Alabama law gives contractors. That can include a lien on the property where we did the work.
Your part of the job
Before we start, you're responsible for showing us your property lines, telling us about private lines we can't see, like sprinkler pipes, septic lines or landscape wiring, and getting any approval your homeowners association requires. We're not responsible for damage to private lines nobody told us about.
Fresh concrete needs time to cure, which is the wait while it hardens and gains strength. We'll tell you when you can walk on it and when you can drive on it. Damage from foot traffic, pets, vehicles, sprinklers or anything else on the slab before then isn't covered.
Cracks, normal wear and our guarantee
Concrete cracks, and no contractor can honestly promise it won't. We pack the base and cut control joints, grooves that give the slab a planned place to crack, so the cracks you do get stay small and in lines we chose. Hairline cracks, slight color differences between pours and minor surface variation are normal concrete behavior and aren't defects.
Our work is backed by our satisfaction guarantee. If something isn't right, call us, and we'll come look at it and work with you on a fix when the problem comes from our work. The guarantee doesn't cover ground movement, tree roots, drainage changes made after we leave, loads heavier than the slab was built for, chemical spills or lack of upkeep.
Other than that guarantee and anything written in your contract, and to the extent the law allows, we make no other warranties, express or implied, including any implied warranty of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose.
Limits on our liability
To the extent the law allows, our total liability for any claim about a job is limited to the amount you paid us for that job. We're not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential losses, such as lost use of a driveway or a garage while work is underway.
The information on this website is general and may not fit your property, so don't rely on it in place of an on-site estimate. Nothing in these terms limits liability that Alabama law doesn't let us limit.
If we disagree
Call us first. Most problems get settled when we come back out and look at the slab together. If that doesn't settle it, we'll each put the issue in writing and try to work it out in good faith before going further.
If we still can't agree, either of us may bring the matter in a court in Baldwin County, Alabama.
Governing law
These terms and any work we do for you are governed by the laws of the State of Alabama, without regard to its conflict of law rules.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time and post the new version on this page. Your job is covered by the terms in place when you signed your estimate or contract, and later changes apply only to work booked after they're posted.
